O.k., I'm home from Boston tonight and on the computer, not the cell phone.

#1 I'm Mason's dad, not Mason. You can call me George, Pete, Earl, Hunan or Scrapper.
#2, Respirator required and gloves recommended.
#3 Try not to use plastic, get the Mason jar. You never know what chemical reaction may go on. You don't want it on your plug. Same goes for wax, silicone, oil etc. Anything foreign may have adhesion effects.
#4 See attached pic. I found these aluminum wires(made for hanging fence on it's toprail). They're the same diameter as my through holes. When I seal, I put the plugs in the sealer and then add the hangers. When I screw the cap down it puts pressure on the hangers which holds the plugs down. When done, I hang them to dry and then leave them in and hold them to paint.
#5 I use a 4 motor rod dryer by Pac Bay. I built a box for it and can turn about 16 plugs at a time.
#6 Yes, I bite my nails.

I got it now Mason's Dad....thanks.........

my screen was blocked of that area due to a large intrusive tool bar that came with some software being installed on my work comp this past week......its gone now and I can see it......but it only says who I am when I sign in....otherwise...it is blank......so even after they removed the toolbar....I still didnt see the .. Welcome Bass Freak until I signed in.....

Ok Im taking a break this weekend as I have my daughter for the next few days..........going to Home Depaot tonight If I can.......to look at rotissieres....and want to pick up primer to start painting the plugs I dipped this week....

I posted a question to you on the other thread..."building a rotissere style plug dryer"........that question was about primers.....what to use with what type of paint.....Im going to be using the Createx paint I got....its a water based paint.....should I be sticking to a type of primer for water based paints??.....should I avoid a certain type when using water based paints??...........could use your advise on this.

I will try to check back in later....going to eat right now....then HD???

I picked up some Krylon interior / exterior primer in a spray can Saturday night.....so Ill be sandidng and priming my plugs tonight right after work.........

then I will need to pick up another can of propellant to paint with....I hav a small can but to start the job without a back up can of propellant I think is stupid......If I run out...and then what/??...the air brush will dry up...and then Im in a mess of which I wouldnt want to be in....especially just starting out with this stuff.......so I will pick up another can as a back up........possibly paint these plugs later this week.

Im thinkoing of a metallic silver base.....then spray some metallic blue...working up the side to a metallic purple.....and finally a black back.......and oh yes.....need the scale look in there too........so an onigion bag will be sought out this week also...........Im a little undecided on how to attack the multi colored sides...and having a scale look to it also......

Do I keep the ongion bag on the plug until I spray all colors that will be on the side of the lure??......silver first.....then the blue....then purple.......I can spray yhe black back after the ongion bag has been removed......but Im thinking if I remove the ongion bag before I blend my purple into the blue I will loose the scale look.............some trial and error coming up for me I think..

Trial and error. Sometimes the scheme you get is nicer than the one you want. I wouldn't leave the scale on too long. Spray, hit it with a hair dryer and remove.

Or, spray lightly and try not to biuld up the paint so it doen't peel when you remove the scale.

that was my worry....if I sprayed too thick I would peel the paint off........So I should paint....then hit with a hair dryer.....great advice George .....

To blend in a variety of colors and not loose the scale look paint in thin layers....hit with a hair dryer....then the next color........onigion bag remains on???.....hit with the hair dryer....then take the bag off??..............this could get fun...

While at Micheals Ive noticed some "Opaque" type paints.......Opaque is a sort of washed out color...or semi see thru.....I could also experiment with this look.......spray an opaque color over my silver base color....and then I would get...(or may get.??) a semi see thru look and still see the silver base color.....

Well I didnt get to primer my plugs last night.....had a sort of a mishap with my office door here at work late yesterday afternoon........I was in a rush.....and verbally jousting with a contractor on the phone.........I got off the phone in a sort of heated mood ....slammed the door and left to go out to a site meeting.....when I cam back the door wouldnt open!!!!!.......that was after 5 pm....my primer and sandpaper were locked inside .....

I called the carpenter shop this morning and they broker er down....lol.......Im in now......and trying to catch up on messages etc.....if all goes well I will prime these this evening.

Thanks for the great advise George.......appreciate your help
