Default Ye Ol' Bacalo
The Cod are back. Every progressive trip has been a huge step above the prior. As the water temps drop on a daily basis, Dogfish have been fleeing and SHOALS of herring and mackerel are moving in. Hot on their tails have waves of fresh green Cod.

All the boats are finding action. Both the Viking and the Miss Montauk out to the the east had limit style fishing last Wednesday and the locally docked Frances Fleet found the same. A nice thing is for now at least the fish are spread out over a huge area so the boats don't have to stack side by side.

Even better, the Cod want Jigs

the cod bite continues to get better every day! im thinking a SWE sponsored cod trip in the near future

take you mean from shore? not that i've heard but the pre sunup bite has been good for the boats...my guess is give it a shot and let us know lol

Not me. I'm Hibernating in California. If I had a choice though between Ice fishing and Cod fishing though, I'd go shore Cod fishing.

No, but here's a 14 pound Rainbow. I try more for trout. They taste better.

most likely headed back out tomorrow, supposed to warm, sunny, and flat as a lake....deffiently not cod weather lol
