Image of the Week:
My good buddy Tom Keer with his son on the cover of his first book "A Fly Fishers Guide to the New England Coast" ...doesn't get much better than that.
News:
Congrats to Ned Desmond and Brian McClintock at gofishn.com on the lauch of gohuntn.com. The first year of gofishn has been very successful with alomost 500,000 unique visitors and over 150,000 Friends on Facebook. One could argue that they may have" invented the future of enthusiast media, a world where streams of stories come from legions of enthusiasts, professional and amateurs, and the role of paid writers and editors fades." It is certainly the case that the software they developed to post images, maps and video is easy to use and they have maximized the utility of Google and Facebook to get the word out. If you have a fishing story to tell gofishn is the place.
Good stuff I came across this week:
Awesome fly casting video I saw on gofishn.com. Gift yarn is a great teaching tool for the mechanics of fly casting. I have also observed that women are easier to teach fly cast too because they got to grace when I guy goes to muscle and an over powered lever is useless.
Check out the new offering from Red Gill. This UK brand has been long popular with surfcasters who utilized them for teasers when the stripers were on small bait. Edge Angling recently restocked the Rascal size.
Events:
Hmmm...Pats are out of it. Couple weeks til the East Bay Anglers Fishing Show at Barrington HS
