Spent the day lazy bait fishing again Saturday.

Of course I'm WAY too ADD to bait fish. So between building sand castles and having running races with my daughter I've got to rig up a plug rod with a chrome Roberts Ranger because in my nutty mind a bluefish blitz could erupt at any minute.

Of course because I brought a spheros and not my vs, I knock the rod over while it's leaning on the truck and.....reels in the sand.

So I spend an hour last night tearing down the reel, cleaning out sand. Bail spring shoots out a little plastic part and that's MIA. Called Shimano today and they don't stock this little widget, although they're trying to scavenge one for me (they have great service at shimano).

I'm done taking non sealed reels on the beach, other than for bait fishing. I'm just too dumb. That is a great second market for van staal- hardcore or dumb.
