My brother and I fished our arses off during the wee hours of the 4th of July. I jigged a bucktail in a deep, fast water location for the last 2 1/2 hours of the dropping tide and for my efforts I had one fish that was maybe a foot long, one that was maybe 2 feet and one dropped fish.
