One of the newer size class reels from Van Staal this past year is the VS275. It's a blend of the VS300 and the VS250. Using a trimmed down rotor cup, a pool from the VS 300, and a VS250 body this reel features the capacity of the VS 300 while weighing just a couple ounces more then the VS 250. It also features the newer designed handle from the bailed spinning reels which is nice and ergonomic for both shore and boat anglers for fast line pickup as well as more to hold onto during the fight with the big ones! The real highlight of this reel is the much higher retrieve rate. Canal Rats as well as those vertical jigging for tuna and other fish such as big Trevally and Grouper will love this new reel. Anyone tossing Pencil Poppers will fall in love with this reel quick as its a treat to work with the higher retrieve rate as you will not fatigue as quick trying to reel and make that plug dance how it should. While the retrieve rate is distinctly faster, working needlefish, eels, and anything else that sometimes needs a slower pace is still easily done you just need to remember to reel a bit slower and once you find the desired speed it really is not much different than any other standard drive reels in the VS series.
This reel has become a major factor in many big inshore tuna landings due to line capacity and being able to reel fast to get the lure back in the action before they disappear and sound so you get more shots at breaking fish being able to pick up line quicker that simple. Shop Favorite
