These are a shop favorite for throwing eels in the suds. Gamakatsu also makes a "heavy duty" version of this hook which we also sell. The heavy-duty hook is formed from much thicker wire but it is quite a bit heavier and more expensive. Both DZ and "Iron" Mike Everin prefer this hook to it's heavy duty counterpart. Save a few pennies with this hook as it is more then strong enough for any fish you might encounter. Extremely sharp and strong. This is also the hook we like to use to retro-fit Crippled Herring or other big metal for fast movers such as Skipjack and Bluefin. Carbon
