St Croix Mojo Surf Rods

St. Croix Says, "Scientists. Those guys want to take credit for everything. Well, while they're sitting around patting themselves on the back about ibuprofen, we'll keep making the world a better place by developing new rods. Like the new Mojo Surf rods. Built from premium SCII graphite, these bad boys are topped off with specialized, weight- saving surf guides with a zirconium ring that sends casts off into the stratosphere. High-performance surf rods at a great value for folks who put it all on the line. "

Pros: Awesome 2 piece
Cons: Sucks when guide needs replacing

Great Rod

All around great rod - 2 pieces so it fits in the car. Separates below the lowest guide which is nice. Guides are a PIA to replace because they are concept. Overall worth every penny

Pros: Value, performance
Cons: Few if any

Good all around surf rod

This is a good all around surf rod. The more moderate action makes it a more versatile stick relative to the 10 foot Mojo.

Pros: Good value, good performance
Cons: Very fast action may put off some

Nice Rod

This is a very nice rod for long casting with lures like tins or poppers. It has a very fast action which may put off some and makes it less than ideal for things like throwing live eels. If you like the older St. Croix fast action rods this is more like that.

Pros: Good all around rod
Cons: rating range is perhaps a little optimistic

Very nice rod

Very nice all around rod. These more moderate St. Croix rods are much better than their prior stuff. The weight range is probably a little optimistic, its not the best for 3/4 or 4 oz- I'd call it more like 1 to 1 1/2 to 3. Great value.

Pros: Well made, Guides, Power
Cons: Needs a rubber butt

Excellent Rod

This is a great rod. It casts a mile and feels like a 1 piece. Has plenty of finesse to work the smaller lures and enough backbone to throw some big stuff. This rod can turn a big fish with ease. Great rod.

St Croix Mojo surf rods represent an incredible amount of value and trickle-down technology from the Legend series. One of the best rods in the shop for good reason - there are a few different actions in the lineup and every length has a great model.
