Fishing Tackle Wishlist - Things You Want Us to Carry
Sep 17 2012 10:21AM
We've posted this topic before and it's started some great dialogue on things the shop should be carrying. While it isn't always possible to bring in every product, our job is to do the best we can to serve our client's tackle needs. To that end:

What fishing gear would you be interested in seeing on the shelves of the store and pages of the website?

Love the Savage Gear Sand Eel series. They are deadly in the Canal. Smaller ones should interest albies & bonito. Great hooks & paint jobs. Go for em'...

These are great +1 on the hooks. We currently have down to the 5" in size but I haven't seen any smaller available through our supplier. Eddc have you seen smaller than 5" ? If so we've got to bring them in, as you mentioned they'd be kill on the fast movers. Here's a link to what we currently have in stock for the Savage Gear Sandeels:

ok heres my wish list and other things i think it would be good to have in the shop.

would be nice to see some of the other savage stuff, like the four play and deviator plugs, look like some nice stuff for the canal and targeting big fish. also please get the 3D eels in once they are released.

afterhours plugs

local plug makers from NJ and NY, basswood, cyclone, etc. there stuff is very unique and almost never seen up here.

seaview lures has some nice plugs too, got to try some stuff out, made in RI too.

another brand of fishing glove like the aquaskins but tougher.

You guys pretty much carry everything under the sun as is, everytime i tell someone im from Ri they all get jealous that we have the edge so close, keep it up guys.

I've said it once, I'll say it again - Spofford Needlefish. Corey P. can attest to their albie slaying characteristics. I don't know how easy they are to source, as only a few shops on MV and the Red Top have them.

I'll second the savage gear plugs. I've caught tons of fish over the past few years on the deviator and another discontinued model ordered from a musky catalog.

Any company contact info on the Spofford Needle packaging? I talked w/ Pete and we did have these awhile back and they didn't sell very well. Could have been before they were popularized for albies though. Beaver, which model is the albie magnet?

Let me check Chris. They also make the ballistic missile which is a popular bluefish plug. Their needlefish isn't a mainstream albie lure, but has always been a staple for some folks on MV. They seem to catch even when the fish are extra picky. Great on bass too. The only lure that I've seen complete the grand slam - albie, bass, blue, and bonito - all in the same day. The size for albies is the 5/8 oz.

Oh man, there's the proof right there - If you can find any contact info that'd be awesome. Even if we just start w/ the 5/8 and some ballistic missles it'd be good.

The full line of Jerry Brown braid. Love that you guys have all the hollow, but why is it not available for order online? I'm sure Pete is pretty well sick of me calling all the time

Beaver, don't forget if you find the contact info on the Spoffords

Eric, I believe Pete is going to look into your request

Chef, good suggestions, the seaview eggs are a good one and the other stuff (some really big lures) looks great for Seaview

I'd heard rumor awhile back of a run of AH I just sent an email in to Don to see if now's a good time to place an order

I'll poke around on the various NY & NJ plugmakers

Good calls on the Savage stuff, I'm pretty sure we can get the 4play but having trouble finding the Deviators through distribution.

Keep those suggestions coming

I made the jump from andes to momoi, which i love and have switched over to it on all my set ups

Restock Your Plug Bag With Fall Favorites

Good call on the Jinkai leader Chef, I'll pass along the suggestions to Pete. Over the years a lot of our best products have come from suggestions like this one. It's made for quite an eclectic collection of products:

We're currently well stocked on some of the fall favorites, keep your suggestions on what we should carry coming, I just wanted to get an update to the Fishing Tackle page feed w/ some of what's hot right now.
