Ultimate Fishing Resource - Get a feel for how striped bass move and feed that will improve the way you fish.

Learn what they eat - See what stripers eat and what lures & tactics best imitate their prey.

Find out where the largest stripers swim - Detailed analysis of structure that holds striped bass.

Mike's Quest - Watch as Mike targets and finally captures some of the largest bass ever filmed in their environment.

This is one video you'll find yourself watching over and over again.

The "Stripers Gone Wild" DVD has over 90 minutes of action packed footage...a substantial amount of it underwater! The fishing/diving sequences take place form Maine to Montauk. Regardless of what type of tackle you prefer, no matter if you fish from a boat or from the surf, this DVD will give you a better understanding of stripers and how to catch them.

With the help of Maptech charts, aerial photography, satellite views, bathometric charts, and animation, I’ll show you how to find productive spots up and down the striper coast. You’ll visit such legendary spots as Montauk Pt, Point Judith, Watch Hill Point, Brenton Reef, Beavertail Light, Gay Head, Wasque Point, Quonny Breachway, and Cuttyhunk.

We’ll examine the effect that tide, phase of the moon, time of day, wind, weather and season of the year can have on striper feeding and movement.

You’ll learn techniques from Captain Gary Corsetti that helped him win three separate ASA tournaments in 2003, including a 54 pound striper – the largest ever landed in an ASA tournament. In fact, you’ll see him catching and releasing bass up to 45 pounds! You’ll get to see Crazy Alberto knocking the scales off stripers with topwater offerings in the surf. There’s even a blitz sequence where a surf fisherman nails keeper after keeper, on an oversized, wooden lure…he even hooks both a big bass AND a big blue at the same time. World-renowned fly fisherman Captain Ed Hughes provides a fun look at flyfishing during a number of springtime blitzes and Captain Jim White, author of a best-selling book on soft plastic baits, demonstrates their effectiveness.

“Stripervision” gives you a virtual reality tour of the striper’s habitat. I explore: reefs, rock piles, beaches, breakwaters, channels, pinnacles, promontories, creeks, rivers, harbors, bays, sandbars, tidal rips, and the open ocean. I give you a fish-eye’s look at how bass feed and what they prey on: herring, menhaden, eels, crabs, bay anchovies, mullet, scup, silversides, cunner, flounder, scup, squid, snappers, pollack, and lobster. You’ll see proven fish catching techniques from chumming, to fly fishing, from topwater plugging to deep water chunking.

Finally, I take you on hunt for monster stripers; an odyssey that involved five trips to Cuttyhunk between 2001 and 2004. You’ll be amazed at the schools of giant stripers with trophy fish up to fifty pounds caught on camera. I cover everything from tide, time of day, phase of moon, and location to give you a roadmap for success that can be applied to anywhere along the striper coast.

* No stripers under 18 inches were knowingly filmed in the making of “Stripers Gone Wild.”

Pros: Unique perspective
Cons: Leaves you wanting more
Recommended: Yes
This is worth watching, if only to get a rare underwater perspective on the world of the striped bass. Not much as far as fishing technique is concerned, but I guess that's what his next DVD is about.

As to be expected the underwater footage in this Laptew video is spectacular. The above water footage gives the angler a good idea of what to expect should he plan to visit these legendary venues. Of course, the tips from the experts is extremely valuable. Watching this DVD is a pleasant way to learn important lessons while being thoroughly entertained.
