This sparsely tied Ray Bonderew pattern is an excellent imitation of a Silverside or a Sand Eel or when slimmer baits are present. A fantastic spring fly. Tied on a size 2 Eagle Claw 254SS hook. Rhody Classic

My "Go To" fly
I believe a lot of flies are too bulky and have abrupt color changes not found in nature. A well tied Ray's Fly castches fish from the get go; but gets better with time...a few less hairs that are a bit more bleached out and you have the perfect Rays Fly. When you need a subtle, suggestive pattern trey a Rays Fly.
