Andrus Logo These jigs are well known amoung the Long Island surf fishing community for taking big bass all season long. These jigs are unique do to the large amount of hollow deer hair on the rear of the jig. With this being said the jig will not sink as quickly as a many other traditional jigs.

    Great Jig!

Have used these jigs for a couple of years now & love them! Their design allows for less hang ups & snags along with a hard finish that holds up in tough/rocky conditions. They are deadly when equipped w/ a pork strip or curly tail.

this is my favorite bucktail when fishing fast currents or big water. Strong hook wont let you down. I highly recommend it.

This is my favorite size bucktail to throw in and around the Newport area....the weight provides more distance in less than perfect conditions and I prefer this hook size for stripers...white is my "go to" color day or night with a split tail rind......I was told by a local guru(Rudy) early last season that I should not be so concerned about actually bouncing my bucktails along the bottom and that the fish would rise to get the presentation...I took to, from that point throwing my bucktails day and (mostly) night, fishing them with a steady retrieve of three or four turns and twitch with great success...I believe the thought that it is necessary to bump these along the bottom results in tremendous frustration for fishermen who get hung up and lose them frequently in rocky areas.....I also believe that there is no better way to learn the magic of presenting your offering deeper in the fishing zone than to dedicate yourself to throwing bucktails for a period, it really changes the way that you look at and aproach the water that you fish...
